Music festivals are one of the best parts of summer in New York City. There are places in all five boroughs that play host to some of the freshest music festivals around. We spent the weekend at Panorama NYC and as we speak…we are trying to recover. It all started Friday afternoon, went through Saturday, and came to a screeching halt on Sunday evening. We were in the building (or should we say on the island) for some of the most epic performances. One of those being the soulful sounds of Solange.
Solange was the perfect accompaniment to the Friday night sunset over Panorama NYC on Randall’s Island. She came equipped with a full band, back-up singers, and one of the freshest sets we’d seen in a while. The red hue of the outfits and stage lighting were the perfect accessory for the evening. Her carefully choreographed performance was detail-oriented and kept the Panorama crowd engaged the entire time. She ran through some of her “A Seat At The Table” hits like “Don’t Touch My Hair” and “Cranes In The Sky”. She even took it back to the old school with a lil “Proud Family” theme song action.
We’ve been jamming with Solange for quite some time and it is a beautiful thing to see her on the stage. You can check some of the recap images below or hit out Instagram for recap vids. Look for her on the AfroPunk and Made In America stages later this summer.
