Get Jiggle With It in this edible Jello Cup

One of the best things about summertime are the rooftop shindigs and the kick-ass cocktail offerings. If you know the name Cody Goldstein (founder of Muddling Memories) then you already know that his mixology game is intense. He’s been making his cocktail mark all over town at places like The Fat Monk and The Horny Ram. He recently took his creativity to the next level and designed a cocktail that is served in an edible lime Jello Cup.

Imagine having a cocktail and eating the cup afterwards for an elevated drink experience. Goldstein created a cocktail that is served up in this really cool rendition of the iconic red Solo cup. The cocktail is called “Getting Jiggle With It” and it’s a blend of a few things including Jägermeister, fresh pineapple juice, St. Germain, and fresh lemon juice.

The edible jello cup is a great conversation starter at parties and gatherings and it doesn’t even melt in the sun. While these are great to go out and order when you’re chillin’, you can totally do-them-yourself at home. Mixing up the colors and filing them with cool drinks is definitely some next level -ish. Check out the video below and take notes on the recipes. If you dare try these yourself, come back and leave us comments on how it went down.

Edible Lime Jello-O Cup

Created by Cody Goldstein, The Fat Monk, NYC

160 g Lime Jell-O
50 g gelatin
300 ml boiling water
6 oz cold water
18-oz “Red Cup”
8-oz “Red Cup”
2 knives, or something heavy to lay across the cup
Method:

  • Combine Jell-O, gelatin and boiling water in a large bowl, and stir with a spoon until dissolved.
  • Pour 8 oz of jello mixture into an 18-oz Red Cup.
  • Fill the 8-oz red cup with cold water and place it inside of the larger Red Cup. The jello mixture will come close to the top of the cup.
  • Take two heavy knives and lay them flat across the top of the cups to hold the smaller cup steady and in place. Make sure the cup is centered so all sides are equal.
  • Place inside the refrigerator for 4 hours to let the mold set.
  • Remove from the refrigerator and gently pull the smaller cup out of the mold. Using scissors, cut a small slit at the top of the larger cup so you can pull down the walls of the cup.
  • Slowly pull off the cup’s walls and remove the molded jello. Make sure to keep the jello cup refrigerated before assembling the drink.
