Shell is looking to make a major impression in the minds of its premium gas using customers with the release of its new V Power Nitro fuel. Shell set up shop in the heart of New York City’s Times Square with a massive promotional event to give the people some hands on experience with the new product.
“With the launch of Shell V-Power NiTRO+ Premium Gasoline, this isn’t just a revolutionary milestone for Shell, it’s a breakthrough in fuels technology,” said Elen Phillips, Vice President, Shell Americas Fuels Sales and Marketing. “Our scientists are always pushing the boundaries of science and they have designed a fuel that sets a new standard in fuels innovation and is the first to offer triple-action protection for your engine. By using Shell V-Power NiTRO+, customers can know that they have filled up with a premium gasoline that offers the best total engine protection that they can get.”
With a massive exhibit that took up a full city block, Shell laid out an array of classic and high performance vehicles, video games, virtual reality simulation, photo station and a live sized station themed stage to kick off this campaign. Hosted by Carson Daly the event included detailed explanations of what makes this new fuel better and cleaner that it’s V-Power predecessor.
The average person doesn’t think this much into their fuel usage but the level of engagement that this event delivered made it easy to get into the mix and want to find out more about what Shell is providing. Their photo booth, which is a staple at most events these days, had an extra special bonus affect. The images were displayed on one of the illuminated Times Square screens so for a few seconds participants were displayed over Broadway which everyone loved.
When all was said and done Shell & BMW led a group out of NYC to kick off a cross-country tour that will showcase the efficiency of this new fuel. June 9th the group returns to NYC at the legendary garage of Jay Leno.
Take a look at the images from the all day event. The sporadic rain showers didn’t stop the fun that Shell provided.
