New York City is the mecca for all things creative. Aside from having a creative ear for music, rapper Wale has a pretty keen eye for art. He recently presented ‘The Exhibition About Nothing’ at the Lyons Weir Gallery in New York City.
Seinfeld seems to be a heavy influence in Wale’s latest movements. Aside from allegedly watching every episode, he borrows a lot of visuals and sounds for his latest art exhibit and mixtape. The exhibit, curated by the Eastmen Collective, features work from Naturel, JBF Customs, Jay West, and Sue Tsai to name a few. The aspiring artists were joined by Wale for the opening of the presentation. While music off his ‘Festivus’ mixtape played in the background, the artists got to chop it up with their fans and guests. The exhibit will be open until January 5, 2015 at Lyons Weir Gallery. Check out some of the video footage and photos from the event. Be sure to check Wale on tour when he stops through your city. Tickets are available on Walemusic.com.
