Legendary Visuals: Nas’ Documentary ‘Time Is Illmatic’ Now Available On iTunes & VOD

NasTII_RooftopstillTime Is Illmatic, is a documentary about Nas and his journey through this whole music thing. First premiering at Tribeca Film Festival last year, the film is now available for all to see in select theaters, on iTunes, and VOD. While Nas was the star of the film, his family, friends, and music partners helped tell an awesome story of how he came to be; the half-man, half-amazing lyrical God he is today. Directed by One9, the story is not overdone or over-told, it is the perfect visual that goes through his timeline to greatness.

Naspound_MovieStill_FrankLarsonWatching this documentary is like a trip down memory lane from the Stretch & Bobbito show to the freestyle at the BBQ to the photo shoot for the album cover, some can remember when it was all happening. It is amazing to see how someone from the projects in Queensbridge made it so far and is influencing the lives of so many. A part of the film focuses on his Hip Hop fellowship at Harvard. Ironically, it was a place that was referenced in his lyrics on the track “Book of Rhymes”…“My people be projects and jail, never Harvard or Yale” and years later, he is sitting on a Hip Hop fellowship. Now they are looking to him and other Hip Hop influencers to help visiting scholars study music. Who would’ve thought!?
